Chrome Mordant Dye is a specially designed colouring substance in which metal atoms are introduced in the process of dyeing. It is a water soluble chemical which is mainly used to provide colour on silk, wool and polyamides. It requires a special binding agent known as mordant which enhances the deposition of free anions with the substrate. Chrome Mordant Dye has a good levelling, colour and water fastness property. This dye in the colouring process is treated with the potassium dichromate in the neutral bath and when chromium is taken up by fibre it is taken out to enter the fabric into dye bath with acid mordant dye.
